My main book is Where The Red Fern Grows by . I chose this because it shows how hard you have to work to get what you want and that things aren't just going to be given to you, you have to earn them. It also teaches you how important friendship is even if its not a person. This book is about a young boy who lived by a forest and always dreamed about going hunting like other people he lived by. And so that he could go hunting he walked an enormous length to buy two hunting dogs. He goes back home and starts to hunt with his amazing dogs and one day he and his dogs make an encounter with a mountain lion. The lion injures the dogs desperately and when it's about to kill him, his dogs rise and attack the lion. It was a wild fight and in the end the dogs kill it but the dogs were so badly injured they both died after they arrived home.
